Was it all over my face? Yes it was, at the March 28 Dance:208 tribute to Paradise Garage Classics, with the amazing DJ Carlos Sanchez turning it out for all 400+ Garage-headz-past, present & future-who showed up to get the funk and feel the disco heat! We put together a great evening of entertainment at the LGBT Community Center, featuring not only Carlos' music, but also the amazing fluorescent artwork of Jonathan Bressler, which made the room glow in Keith Haring-esque splendor and tribute. "It's just like being at the Garage!" one dancer exclaimed. The crowd-an amazing mix of young, old, black, white, male, female, straight and gay-came out early and stayed late for the love of Garage music at this Center fundraiser.

July 25 is the date of the next Garage party, to be held in honor of DJ Larry Levan's birthday. Musical highlights of the recent dance included Din-Da-Da and Tears. Among those seen were Darryl Branch, Ron Lester, Xavier Smith, Fred Pierce, Hernan Poza, Rollerena, Jimmy Paul, Tai Chi Alfonso, Duane Roggendorff, birthday boy DJ Rich King, DJ Gustavo, DJ Josh Sparber, DJ Jerel Black, DJ Frankie Paradise, John Lovett, Andrew Rivera, Sam Consiglio, Andrew Jonas, Eric De La Cruz, Marc Jacobs, Ricardo Tavares Studmuffin, Paul Vitale, David Noh, Darren Kinoshita, Flotilla deBarge, Ted Snowdon and Duffy, and Danny Brook.

Our upcoming dances are April 11, Burlesque, with DJ Honey Dijon and Host Blake Evan Sherman; April 25, Rollerena's Birthday Party and Studio 54 Anniversary, with DJ Ted Snowdon; May 9, the Furball, with DJ Hex Hector, and DJ Man Parrish (Sperm) in the Mustache Garage Lounge.
