On March 1, the Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG) held its annual In-Town Party and Brunch in a new and successful venue for the event, New York City's LGBT Community Center's third floor Lerner Auditorium, and announced its Fire Island schedule for the coming summer. As APCG President Michael "Coco" Coffindaffer noted, "This season, it's all about Hollywood."
Brave survivors of recent serious illness Lois Fisher, Victor Alfieri and David Bullock were present with their respective partners, Barbara Dowd, Bobbie "Cobra" Scherffius, and Tim Webster. Our cherished Doctors Rick Byrd, PhD, and Patrick Fratellone, MD, announced a new business, It's Simply Green, "an environmentally friendly store," that they will open at 160 Main Walk, and James Belzer promoted "I'll Take Manhattan: A Sentimental Journey," a benefit for the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, which he is directing at the Lucille Lortel Theater on April 20. Martha Pitkin and Dr. Ellen Biggers pointed out that they met in the very room where this membership reunion was taking place and asked to be photographed there.
Chef Ed Freibott and THYME Catering (732/822-4231) offered a tasty meal of freshly prepared omelets, chicken, pork, potatoes, salad, croissants and muffins, which were enjoyed by all.
